The Price of Respect: Why I Choose My Circle Carefully – Regardless of Race, Creed, or Color

The Price of Respect: Why I Choose My Circle
Carefully – Regardless of Race, Creed, or Color

Respect is a word thrown around casually, yet it holds immense weight. It's not just a feeling; it's a non-negotiable standard that dictates who I allow into my life and those I care about. It does not matter whether you live on an island or an island paradise. Every person’s island is their paradise.

I will not be friends with someone I do not respect. This might seem harsh, but it's a principle I live by.  Respect is earned, not freely given. It's built on a foundation of integrity, honesty, and kindness. If someone consistently demonstrates a lack of these qualities – if they lie, cheat, or manipulate – they forfeit my respect and any possibility of friendship.

This stance extends beyond my relationships. I refuse to expose my family, friends, and coworkers to individuals who haven't earned my respect.  The people I love deserve to be surrounded by those who uplift and inspire, not those who drag them down with negativity and toxicity.  It's a matter of protection and preserving positive energy within my circle.

Trust is intrinsically linked to respect. I cannot trust a word from someone who has proven themselves to be dishonest or corrupt.  Their actions speak volumes; no charm or manipulation can erase their past behavior.  Liars, cheats, and swindlers erode the foundation of trust, making any relationship impossible.

To those who might question my stance, I say this: You are not a friend.  True friendship is built on mutual respect, trust, and support. It's about celebrating each other's successes and offering comfort during difficult times.  It's not about using others for personal gain or tearing them down to elevate yourself.

You are a cold, calculating individual masquerading as someone righteous and upright. Your actions betray your words, and your true nature seeps through the cracks of your carefully constructed facade. You are an island unto yourself, surrounded by the negativity you generate, whether you are a worker on the street, have an office in a High-Rise building, or are someone running for a higher office. My farming background equates such a person to the scum gathering atop a toxic pond in the field surrounded by black cow manure.

Your words are weapons, laced with venom and designed to inflict pain.  You spread doubt, despair, and hatred, leaving a trail of destruction in your wake. You are none of one's friends. You are a force of darkness, seeking to drag others down into the abyss of your own making. You should wear the word SHAME on your chest instead of making wobbly moves and crowing like a chicken without a cock.

This might seem like a scathing indictment, but it's the truth.  I refuse to sugarcoat the impact of your actions.  You may try to justify your behavior, but ultimately, you are responsible for your choices and the consequences.

I choose to surround myself with people who embody the qualities I admire: Honesty, integrity, kindness, and respect. These individuals enrich my life and make me a better person. I will not waste my time or energy on those who offer nothing but negativity and toxicity.

The world is filled with amazing people who deserve my time and attention.  I will not allow myself to be dragged down by those who choose to dwell in darkness.  I choose to walk in the light, surrounded by those who inspire and uplift me.

This is my declaration. This is my stand. I choose respect. I choose authenticity. I choose to surround myself with those who reflect the best of humanity.

When it comes to the crucial question of who represents me and who I entrust with my freedom, my answer is clear: I choose those who uphold the values of respect, integrity, and justice. I choose those who fight for the rights of all, not just the privileged few. I choose those who understand that true freedom comes with responsibility and strive to create a world where everyone can thrive and better their lives.
